USPA NEWS - As a photographer who has been telling the story of MotoGP through the lens for many years, I’ve learned to recognize those riders who don’t just race, but become an integral part of the technical growth of a motorcycle. Luca Marini is one of them.
Within the Honda HRC project, Marini is playing a fundamental role: he is a rider who works methodically, with a rare clarity and an analytical ability that truly makes a difference. Every time he goes out on track, he brings with him an almost engineering like approach: he observes, interprets, breaks down the behaviour of the RC213V and provides the team with valuable information, the kind that is truly needed to develop a complex machine like the Honda.
In recent years, the RC213V had shown clear limitations—gaps that prevented Honda riders from expressing their full potential. Marini faced this challenge without hesitation: he took on a difficult project and is carrying it forward with a determination that deserves respect. Thanks to his feedback, the bike has become more stable, more readable, more consistent in its reactions, even though the road back to the top is still long.
What I appreciate most about his work is his ability to turn every run into a meaningful piece of the development puzzle: he doesn’t look for shortcuts, he doesn’t settle. He works with patience, with method, with a clear vision. He is the kind of rider who doesn’t just ride — he builds.
For this reason, today Marini represents one of the most important assets for Honda HRC: a rider who is contributing in a concrete way to the technical rebirth of the RC213V, step by step, with the same seriousness and dedication that we at Foto ReD strive to put into every one of our projects.
